Moth in the Rain

I like this. A few of my friends go mothing, a white sheet and appropriate light behind it and it attracts the moths to be photographed. They are harder than they look to photograph well. The light areas of wings and body reflect the light well leaving other sections too dim. In this case you have done well, only the eyes are too dark and insect eyes are difficult anyway. I wonder if the rain helped with a more even bounce of light from the white pole.

Thank you Anne. Actually we were caught in a storm at a cafe in Borneo and couldn't leave. I only had my iPhone with me and chased this moth around for a while before it settled on the pole. So the shot was more luck than judgment!!

A little birdie has told me that our oldest member, Pat Rigby, turned 90 on 25th February.

Pat has done both the photography and image processing workshops with me and is a great example of getting out there and participating in life. It has been a pleasure to have Pat in my classes and I raise a glass to your continued enjoyment in life and photography.
